At BCM, we are constantly striving to develop and maintain state of the art technological resources for the benefit of our clients. Many of our clients are also familiar with the office integration that has been in place at BCM for several years. All of our offices have long been connected by a LAN/WAN (local access network/wide area network). This means that the attorneys, secretaries and paralegals can instantly send messages between our three office locations. The BCM Expert Witness Database contains a list of approximately 500 expert witnesses in 57 separate specialties, from anesthesiology to vascular surgery. Any BCM employee can access the most current information on any specialist, at any time. The Database contains information regarding fee for review, subspecialty certification, tax ID number, the identity of the BCM attorney who recruited the expert and any other information that may be pertinent. At each BCM office, all employees have Dell PC's running the most recent version of Windows software. The computers are always online, with a T1 connection, permitting us to e-mail our clients and carriers.
We also have videoconferencing stations in each of our offices.  The Polycom ViewStation systems with BRI Inverse Multiplexor Module provide seamless connections and steady quality.

For out-of-state clients, the system permits the carrier to inexpensively attend critical meetings.  We also use videoconferencing for selected out-of-state depositions.  The ViewStation cameras can automatically track the person speaking and are also capable of extreme close up views for examining documents.

Our clients are already familiar with some of our simpler BCM innovations, such as the memo format we utilize for reporting depositions of important witnesses.  We take a photograph of the witness at deposition, digitize it and download it into the heading section of the deposition summary.

BCM also has medical/anatomical software capable of producing editable anatomic diagrams and pictures that can be used to help illustrate and explain the pathology in any given case.  This can be useful both for communicating with the client and preparing exhibits to be used with Case Evaluation Briefs or at trial.

BCM's technology investment will provide our clients an advantage throughout the new millennium.
